What is Green Futures?

Green Futures connects young people and jobseekers with opportunities in the growing green economy. Through career fairs, employer networking, workshops and talks, attendees can explore careers in sustainability, develop valuable green skills, and discover pathways into education, training, apprenticeships and employment.

By bringing together employers, educators and industry experts, Green Futures helps inspire the next generation to pursue careers that contribute to a more sustainable future.

There are 3 Parts to a Green Futures Event

Every Green Futures event combines employer engagement, expert insight and hands-on learning to help young people explore careers in sustainability.

Green Careers Fair

Our Career Fairs are an avenue for students to specifically hear from a range of sustainable businesses about what they do, the technology or processes they may be developing, the future career opportunities they might offer, and the many new jobs that exist in sustainability.

Industry Talks

The event offers talks from industry experts on specific topics and career paths that are attended by those students who have a particular interest in those career pathways. These are generally delivered by professionals who are already employed in those specific fields/careers.

Interactive Workshops

The event also offers interactive workshops demonstrating the types of skills and problem-solving demonstrated in various green career pathways. These serve as a great avenue for an organisation to engage more directly with a small group of students at a time through hands-on experiences.
